SLAM! Stereo Limiter Mastering Version Detented Analogue | ||||

Specifications The mastering version of the SLAM! differs from the 'regular' SLAM! in a number of ways. There are no microphone preamps or instrument inputs and the tube sections are paralleled for lower noise and distortion. All pots are replaced with rotary switches for detented resets and easier calibration and the unit has a true hard-wire bypass function (this is not possible on the regular version with mic preamps, etc) No separate L & R bypass buttons. What was the Left Bypass on the 'regular' unit becomes the full Bypass (in both stereo and hardwired). The right Bypass button becomes either the DAC select (if the D/A Converter Option is installed) or Limiter Bypass (tubes & transformers still active) There are dedicated unbalanced transformerless inputs. What was the Phantom Power switch on the rear panel, here selects XLR or 1/4” jaxck inputs. The ELOP® limiter has 5 ratios, which may put it into the compressor/ limiter category. You may find the lower ratios better suited to complex mixes. The FET limiter has 5 modes (these last two features replace the INPUT selector on the 'regular' unit). Mastering versions calibrate the digital option for +14dBu =DFS rather than +16 dBu. Further information about this Mastering SLAM! available upon request. • Input
