Snapper 100 Watt Monoblock (pair) | ||||
| Description In keeping with their snappy oceanic and generally fish related product names Manley's all-tube 100 watt monoblock called The Snapper.
A terrific design from Manley's Mitch Margolis features a quartet of EL34 tubes in a fully differential circuit topology, including the input (12AT7) and driver (7044) stages. The Snapper can be driven fully balanced all the way through via the XLR inputs. If you have balanced outputs on your preamplifier, the Snapper is the first Manley design to let you take advantage of this without additional balancing input circuitry or input transformers. Very cleverly, the unbalanced phono outputs can be used as alternatives with equally impressive results. Biasing is easy with all measurement points and trims located on the top deck and speaker connection is made with heavy duty WBT binding posts. Over three months of R&D in the Manley Magnetics department resulted in a brand new output transformer design, an incredibly complex 19-section piece. The Snapper will crank out 100 watts at 10 cycles all day long and a full 110 watts from about 15Hz all the way up to 40KHz. Some manufacturers will try and mislead you with frequency response specs. "Just listen to the amazing bandwith on our HokeyKokey 400BZX9" They don't tell you this may have been bandwidth measured at oh, 5 watts. Manley products are designed to deliver full power bandwidth. Continuous duty.Real muscle. Specifications
